I was looking at an enkei evo 6... and i really like the look of it, but the blasted wheel is the same weight of two stock wheels put together... ... so i was just looking for ideas... what are wheel brands out there that will work great with a 96 camry le, light weight...
Hey, I'm thinking about getting lightweight 17" forged wheels. I like the Volks TE37's, but they're a bit pricey. Do you guys know any places or websites that sell quality forged wheels at an affordable price? I really don't want to spend over $1200 on 4 wheels w/ tires. By the way, I drive an '02 Camry LE 4 cyl., if that matters. Thanks for all the input.
im just wondering why everyone is so concerned with light weight rims. Unless your wanting absolute performance and your taking out panels and backseats and every extra POUND you can on your car...it REALLY doesent matter. Lighter wheels wont make your car perform like its on rails or something. Theres no point in dropping a shit load of money into some "lighter" rims if you ONLY want them because they weight 8lbs less....
Also not to mention, your driving a camry....not the most lightweight car on the road. Aspecially with an '02 4 banger, light weight rims wont help a BIT or any other 4 door camry that weights 20 tons (over exaduaration...but pretty close)
Theres no justifiable cause to get a lightweight rim on a 4 door camry (except for guys like tony the tiger)

forged wheels dont scream in pain at the first sign of a pothole.
i would never used a cast alloy wheel (most factory wheels are forged)
stick with steelies, forged aluminium or cast magnesium, because forged magnesium is super expensive.

Less weight on wheels mean less unsprung weight and less rotation mass. Lets the suspension do its job better (better handling) and makes it easier for the engine to turn the wheels (faster acceleration).
you would like to think so but a few pounds saved on your rims isent going to put down the 1/4 mile any more than 1/16th of a second. That and I am aware of the rotating mass subect. we had a thread ALL about me getting 20's on my car. I know all about that BUT lightweight rims arent going to help with that. I have some phat heavy ass 18" motegi's on my car now and they weight about the same as my stock rims so the breaks are made to handle that weight and rotating mass. 5 lbs less rotating mass wont do much of anything. The only time weight of rims should really matter is if your building a rally car or drag car and every pound counts OR your driving a Yukon Denali and throwing some 24's on it with a weight of 50lbs or so.

I saw this ad on the top of TN home page, and it directed me to www.6061forged.com. Has anyone ever purchased wheels from this company? I really forged wheels and I like the Model A5 design, but not sure how legitimate this company is, and whether their forged wheels are really as strong as they should be.
