does anyone have an estimate of how much power a 5sfe could put out w/o a turbo or a sc.

I love my camry even tho its slow as hell
1996 Camry le 5sfe
tokico struts, whitline sway bar, ractive strut bar, weapon r intake, alpine cda9855( it was a 9821), idq 15, d5 300, d3 400, (seas 7" woofers, lpg tweets), and prolly the only cam with a cb radio
depends on what your gona have it doing ... 200 isnt that big of a gain (about 55) but if you want to kill your 0-1500 range then you can hit about 250

^ and leaving it that way!
What you do so boost this 130hp car into 250, and that's WITHOUT turbo / sc?
I really wanna mod my 99 Camry LE i4 a/t performance under reasonable cost, but from much posts I've read seems like most common mod such as SRI and Catback is worthless.
There's no such thing as building an all motor 5SFE to make 250hp at the crank at a "reasonable cost." To get to that kind of number you need to do some serious work on it. If you want power out of a 5S, forced induction is the wayto go...
Guess I will be stuck with ricer Camry cause I have no money for turbo.
I just wanna have some power gain over stock with fair deal... but I have heard all these stats regarding the drawback of SRI, catback, dis-continued of rippmod header, there're simply nothing left for us camry guys.

Custom make. Also Zoni will be making some stuff fairly soon

You can make power out of a 5S-FE while keeping it NA, that's what I'm doing.
It costs money though.
Porting is essential, cams are essential...
you also want to make your power hit the ground (drivetrain loss can kill).
a stock 5S puts out about 100hp to the ground. that's 30-35hp lost, depending on the year. You swap to a manual, get a light flywheel, good clutch and underdrive pulley and you may be in more working order.
you'll need forced induction to break 200 poines on a 5sfe.....3vz and 1 mzfe's were pretty uch at the 200 territory, though with major work (ie tony the tiger's project) 250-300 is foreseeable

I disagree. There's 5S's that are in the 200hp territory NA.
I mean 5sfe's that werent forced.....and yes there are exceptions......but you know noobs will read this and think instantly that they can do this with just a little $
Of course not a low cost build, likely far more expensive than forced induction.
He was running 12-1 CR through a milled head and new pistons, along with a port job and 3 angle valve job, EMS and cams with a rebuilt s53 and so on.
For the record, marco's head literally is the base for my build (I bought his head from him a couple months back).
Wow.. that 5SFE sounds nice. Anyways, that's what you come to realize. It's not about what your motor is capable of, but your wallet. I can't wait for Zoni to break out with a line of 5SFE parts. "I want three of everything... Tomorrow, today, now.."
In the end, a fast car means crap. If you got something to prove, then there's no point. A weak self-esteem can't be fixed with a fast car. Why do something because of someone else? Now, if you do it just because you like speed and want to be proud and ORIGINAL, then big ups to you.
Do what I'm doin' and save ALL THE MONEY you can because when Zoni lets loose, I will be the first person plunking down money. He doesn't know yet but I'll be like the best friend he never had..
you just let the cat out of the bag... i know now...
allen, me too man... ive spent WAYYYYY too much money on this car and other cars i bought too, anything... prolly up to like 20-30g's if i added it all up over time.
