i was wondering-would an aftermarket air filter do anything performance wise to my Gen 2 camry? i want to get one even just for looks and sound but will it affect the computer sensors in any way? i live in sydney and the cops and traffic department are really strict on such mods, stating air filters create undue induction noise, but they look so cool in your engine bay!

Well they probably wouldn't help much but since you want it just for looks I don't think it would harm the Air Flow Meter or anything like that. Are you thinking of replacing it with one of those 'cold air intake' looking filters?

Just get a K&N replacement air filter. It's just as good.
