Camry Control Arm Bushing Opinions

I have '98 V6 Camry and the front control arm bushing is shot on the driver's side and maybe the other isn't so hot. I've seen a couple after-market rubber bushings and I there is a Toyota part number on the original, so I could probably get those. I'm just looking for detailed opinions on the various options - rubber, Energy Suspension polyurethane, etc.. The car isn't all that soft feeling as it is and I wouldn't want to increase it's harshness, but the car also kinda wanders at highway speeds and I'd like to tighten that up.

Any experiences any would like to share?

My 85 needed one, but that was after a lot of mileage and some of it on gravel. The 85 control arm only had one bushing, not two, and that placed more loading in it.

My 95 and 01, never noticed any problems, same road/driving conditions. Think you'd have to be hitting some major potholes frequently to do it in?

What conditions do you drive in?

I've got the same problem. It makes a popping noise after contracting (in other words, if there's a temp. drop). The bushings on both sides look very worn out. It's a '99 with 100k miles on it, so that only adds to the conclusion that whoever owned it before me drove it harshly.

use the toyota part...it will last a long time
