Turn signal stalk problem
Hi everyone- noobie here.
I've got a '97 Camry with 150K. Recently, my left turn signal would stop working when I turn it on. Not double flash, no flash. The relay seems to click at half to third speed. I checked the bulbs, all four (left and right) are fine. Here's the rub: If I nudge the stalk very slightly towards the center position, the turn signal starts working normally. I pulled the switch out of the steering column and tested it. Same thing. If I press hard on the stalk, I get an open, If I nudge it up, I get a closed circuit. I pulled the switch apart and can't find any broken pieces. It seems as if the copper strip that closes the circuit might be wearing down. Can I solder a piece of copper (or even use just solder) to 'extend the length of copper?
The right turn signal works fine.
Any help is appreciated!
If I need to replace the switch, does anyone know where I can get toyota parts new or used?
TIA!
