2nd Generation Funny squeaking noises after hard driving?

I've noticed that after I do burnouts (which btw i stopped doing a while back..smart guy i am haha), something on my front axle creates a loud squeaking noise that goes up and down in volume and tone as the WHEELS turn...get it? lie, after a full rotation of the wheels the noise will start all over again, almost like an audio sample repeating itself. i would hear this after burnouts all the time. sometimes while taking it easy i'll hear the same noise as i'm steering, doesnt matter what speed i'm going (although the noise changes to a single constant tone if im driving fast). maybe the two are partially related? anyways...my dad said something about the CV joints? what are those? he didnt look at it, and i have absolutely no clue what to look for. anyone have any information for me?

and also...anyone have tips on how to change out the plugs on the rear bank of the 2vzfe? im not sure i can do it.
thanks.

Jon

yes it is most likely your cv joints. look under the two front tires under the wheel well(on the axle). you'll see two rubber accordian like fittings on each side one towards the tire and one towards the engine. check to see if any of them are torn. first sign is grease splattered near by or in wheel well. if there are tears, dirt and grim get in those tears over time and eat away at those joints. if it's too bad they need to be replaced. they normally check for these if you send it for a check up at a mechanic. If you know anything about cars it shouldn't be too hard for you to replace the boots on your own. just take off your tires and your brake assembly and you have dirrect access.

Actually i have found a tear in one of mine and plan to replace the boot in the upcoming weeks. i'll let you know if there's anything to take note of.
