I was trying to remove the carpet-like trunk trim from my Gen 5 so that I could get to the license plate bulbs (I'm swapping them for super-white LEDs).. and I ran into a problem... how the hell do you get the trim off of that internal trunk release handle? Anyone know? Any help would be appreciated.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

There's those black plastic hooks on the side. You have to use a flat-head screwdriver to pull those out. Now prying the whole thing off after you took those off takes some skills.
No no, I got those lol... my problem is getting the trim off of that big yellow trunk release handle on the inside. I can't seem to find a way to get it off...

Hmmmm........me a man, yank it out. Who cares if there's rips in the trim, nobody will see it. J/K. Most likely, you'd have to work your way around the handle while pulling out the trim.
Ok, for future reference for anyone that wants to know... when I pulled the trim again, I saw a bolt on the internal trunk release lever where it connects to the trunk lid. I'm assuming that thats the bolt that would remove the switch and allow the trim to come off. However, I decided not to mess with it and just weathered the pain and pulled down the trim as much as I could (without breaking it) and squeezed my hand through, replaced the bulbs, got some nice cuts and scratches, but in the end, all was worth it. I have nice new super-white license plate lights. Haha.
No reward goes unpunished, right? Haha.

lol yeah, you're in the Valley. But actually, I ordered it from www.superlumination.com. Its a 194 bulb. I didn't like the quality of the ones that are from AutoZone or Pep Boys, so I ordered them from there. I got the 4-LED 194 Super White bulb. The prices are better, and they have a bigger selection. AND, they test every bulb before they ship them to make sure they work properly. And as far as jacking the project, isn't that part of the reason that TN exists?
