Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

Maybe an alternator problem? Have you had that checked?

It shouldn't be anything in the charging system.. The car will crank, then after drivng for a while it will shut off and you wont be able to restart for about 10min, then it'll shutoff again

It is possibly the coil. I've seen that quite a few times. It will work when cold and then dies when it gets warm?

Although on some models the coil is built into the distributor, they are not the same. Often when people say they changed the dist, they usually mean the cap only. If you actually changed the entire dist, the coil may be new, or they may have swapped the old one back in.

I don't know what engine you have, not listed in post, so I am giving general info.

Did you change it, or have someone do it for you? The cap is the cover for the dist., thus the name. The coil bolts onto the dist, and is under the cap as well. It doesn't sound like it was changed. I'm not positive, but I think they are bought seperately.

the car cranks, it'll run for about 8mins. Before it shuts off, it'll start to sputter slightly, but not to the point you'll think it'll shutoff, and then all of a suden it shuts off. Then when you try to restart, it doesn't start up right away you have to wait like ten minutes
