Just picked up some lightweight red aluminum racing lugnuts, but am in a dilemma whether the old ones are better. The old lugnuts are chrome steel, very heavy but strong. The new lugnuts are very lightweight aluminum, but look awfully fragile. Advice appreciated. Thanks.
Prefer the chrome myself. That red looks pink from a distance.
i agree, but if they were a darker red, and if you had some more red on your car to go with them (like the same red for your caliper) then it wouldn't look bad at all.

but by the same token, there's nothing wrong with the aluminum ones either....as long as they're torqued correctly, they are just as safe as any other lugs that are made to fit your car
