4th Generation eh??????

hey guys, not the first time i've been here, some of you might remember me with my night sliding videos. anyway i'm back with several questions...

first of all, when i start my engine from dead cold in the summer weather (around 30ish degrees), the rpm bounces between 300-400 and sometimes even stalls out, i have to give a bit of gas to rev up a bit and then it idles normal at 700-800 rpm. i'm thinking dirty throttle body or idle air control? if it's the idle air control, where do i find it?

second of all, i was driving today after driving 2 hours and 2 hours back from an event i was attending, after i got home, i went around my neighborhood and noticed that everytime i make a complete stop from a stop sign, and then give gas, there's a sort of hestitation before i can accelerate smoothly, it's like a really light jerk that's noticable then it accelerates smoothly. it used to be accelerating smoothly from dead stop... i'm thinking dirty throttle body again?

third of all, i have a daily job working 5 days a week and 9 hours a day as a courier for a express delivery service, now i'm just wondering why the hell does my car get 18 mpg when it's suppose to be 24... i'm guessing EGR? O2 sensor? or something related to gas mileage.

i guess that's all for now...

I suggest you take your car to this shop for a tune up. A lot of our owners (including me) swear by them. Basil is the person you need to speak to.

currently i have no money to bring it to any shop for repair, whch is why i'm asking you guys what it might be then fix it myself. i am a little mechanically inclined as i used to have high school co-op a while ago.

one more thing, sorry for the stupid question, but what's seafoam?

SOunds like Tune up, including the plugs, fuela and air filters at least. Then the seafoam step cleaning TB and IAC. As far as your fuel mileage, try the tune up and then see what you get.

Id go with cleaning the TB and IAC. I wouldnt worry about the tune up unless you know it hasnt been done in the last 60K miles. Gas milage can vary greatly depending on your driving habits. If your doin a lot more stop and go delivery type driving your milage is gonna drop no matter what parts you change.
