Latest Dealer Info On 3.3 V6 Hesitation

yes, my new 05 se v6 has the deceleration hesitation when coming up to a stop then hitting the gas pedal. spoke with service guy at dealer in OKC and he stated in so many words that: "toyota is working on the problem but has not released a fix; that they have replaced ecu's, transmissions etc but nothing works; toyota has told them not to do any more replacement of parts until they come up with a fix, which may never happen; that the problem exists basically from 03 models forward; that toyota thinks it's an ecu problem with interpretation of the signals of the crank angle and cam angle sensors; that i can open a case with toyota if i want."

that's all for today gentlemen.

There is a lawsuit going on for this!!!

Hesitation Problem in the Toyota Highlander & Lexus ES300 with the Five-Speed Transmission

Some 2002 to 2004 Lexus ES30 and ES330 models and the Toyota Highlander and Lexus RX330 equipped with the five-speed automatic transmission and V6 engine reportedly have a hesitation problem when the driver attempts to accelerate. Toyota apparently has no fix for the problem. If you’re an owner of one of these cars and would like to know if you have a lemon law claim, contact us for a FREE Case Review (http://www.kabolaw.com/lemon_law_review2.asp).

I don't work for them and I am in Canada. I just thought I'd post it and if enough American friends do a class action, Lexus/Toyota might actually fix the problem , like Honda/Acura semi-fixed transmission problems after being sued. As well, the Toyota 3.0L sludging was resolved like this too.

Since I bought my 2004 SE V6 I've been manually down shifting when slowing down. I don't mean using the transmission to slow the vehicle down. I mean helping the transmission out by placing it in the right gear to accelerate out of. It's almost second nature to me now, I don't even think about it. And by doing so my cars' always ready to get going.

One day I'm going to buy the Solara dual gate set-up to make it easier to shift it.

V6 Hesitation

I have a 2004 Camry SE V6 and the hesitation from a yield has been a problem since day one. At first I thought it was new car jitters and waited for it to straighten out but after about 6 months of ownership I took it to the dealer. Their first response was it was "Normal V6 Hesitation." I then asked to talk to the manager who called in the regional rep who said yeah we know's a problem and we'll let you know when we have a fix. I haved turned in a complaint to the NHTSA. The complaint number is 10147628. I would hope that others would do the same. The website is http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/.

there is no fix, unless you program yourself a FASTER ECU, the stock one is just too slow... think of it as running your brand spanking new 24" LCD monitor off a Pentium 100 with ISA graphics =) sure it works, but it sure isnt fast enough.
