Camry CV boots/joints replacement

I'm a new Camry owner (1996 LE, 4 cyl) and have several questions:

1. How do you classify the cars (Gen 1 - 5)?

2. How difficult is it to replace CV boots/joints/the whole axle?

3. Is there an adequate work flow for the above in either Haynes or Chilton?

4. Is there a torque specification for spark plugs (something more accurate than hand tight plus 1/4 turn)?

Thanks

Possible related question: What would make a "clicking" sound from the rear wheels?- it sounds like a small rock stuck somewhere in the rear right, but it has been going on for months now. I think it is related to the suspension which I need to replace anyway.
