Trunk does not pop open

When opening the trunk using the remote, the lid opens 1 inch only. I've seen other Camry's pop all the way open. Is there an adjustment I can make or am I looking to find the lid binding somewhere ?

One thing I've done is to clean the contact areas where the trunk lid meets the body. That seemed to make things better. However, you shouldn't have to adjust anything, unless something has messed up your torsion bar. There are two other settings you can set it to, but I haven't actually taken the time to find it myself. You'll have to take out enough of the trim in the trunk to get to it.

shove a brick or block of wood between the 2 torsion bars -- the 2 small bars that run across near where teh boot light is, the mroe you pry them apar the harder your boot will smack someone in the chin.

Do you see any slits near the torsion bars? For like adjustment? It may be possible to remove one of the bars and drop or raise it by a few notches to give it extra torsion. Of couse, be careful when removing them as they tend to be a bit spingy!
