I wonder if anyone painted muffler or exaust pipe using high heat paint. I have seen my friend's car and for 6 years the pipe still good and no rust. Any suggestion?

Please don't do it... apex'i sells colored mufflers, if you want to go that route.

The paint comes off my muffler on the back where its visible, so yes I paint it with high temp flat black!

Well when I had my sock muffler on my gen3 it was all rusty and shit so I just bought some black high heat paint and painted it. Also both on my eclipse and camry I sprayed my rusty exhaust pipes with high heat paint.

I have an orange muffler on my cavalier. If it is still new, clean with soap and water, then alcohol. I sprayed a coat of zinc primer (because this was a really cheap muffer) and then orange engine paint rough finish by. Then recoat with engine paint, and I stopped there. If the surface is rough follow with a laquer. Too smooth/thick a finish and it will crack and be ugly.

i've seen some folk paint their muffler flat black with that 1500ºF exaust manifold paint from an autoparts store.

as long as the metal beneith it is free of grease and rust, the paint will stay.

A body shop accidently painted the muffler on my old 240SX when the guy that bought the car had it painted black. The paint stayed too..
