Aftermarket for an 05?

Ive been looking around for aftermarket parts for my 2005 Camry...

There does not seem to be any cat back exhaust systems or short ram air intake for the 05 models yet. There does not seem to be much at all in terms of performance parts for that matter. Ive gone through this forum and the FAQ multiple times as well as done extensive research but I havent located the plethora of parts that I seek.
I realize its the newest model but i would think there would be at least some choice of parts for my car.

On a side note, not suprisingly there are many parts for every previous year. What is the difference in the body or dimensions of the 04 model that makes some of the parts incompatible with the 05 model...

Is my research flawed or is there a lack of parts for the 05 up until this point?
If I am missing something someone kindly point me in the right direction.....

There aren't that many parts for any of the Camry's from '02-'05... if you want performance, you're going to have to custom make it, or wait until someone releases parts. I'm planning on doing a custom cat-back exhaust using universal MagnaFlow components. (ie. cat, piping, muffler). The only full exhaust system that is ready made for the '02+ Camry is the Borla, and it is only for the v6 models. In any case, MOST parts that fit the Gen 5 should fit the Gen 5.5. But you would have to double check on that, as certain parts/sizes are slightly different.

TRD got intake, exhaust, lowering spring, strut bar, sway bar.... for the Gen 5 to play with. Most of them should also fit 05's

The problem is though i want to be sure that Gen 5 parts fit Gen 5.5. They look the same but I dont want to invest money in parts that will not fit correctly....

There is not much out there. I've been looking for a few years and have found little tid-bits here and there for my 02 V6.

TRD doesn't make intakes for the camry. Only the sport air filters. I advise you get the intake from Injen or K&N. They're high quality for camrys.

And yes, a 2002-2004 camry parts will fit 2005 camrys. How do I know? I've checked up on the parts catalogue for the 2005s, and they have the same part numbers and fitting. For your info, I checked the dealer's catalogue, not the customer's.

Every part fits? If so are there any differences between the Gen 5 and the Gen 5.5 models?


....Yeah i was definitely going with K&N I just didnt know if it was compatible. If I couldnt find the short ram intake i was going to replace the stock filter with a K&N 33 series filter as a temp upgrade.

injen makes short ram and cold air intakes for the camry gen 5. k&n has stock airbox filters. exhausts, just have your local muffler shop do your piping and attach any muffler you want to it. eibach's pro kit for a drop.

engine wise, from 02 to 05 everything bolt on is identical except the transmission, which adds a gear in 05 (maybe 04 not sure). the obvios exterior changes such as head and tail lights change, front bumper and grill, plus some minor interior changes. I have an 02 camry

go to your dealer and they will have the answers
