3rd Generation Hard Starting!! HELP

i do have a slight problem that maybe someone can help me out with>? well if the car sits overnite, it starts fine, but if u have driven it a few minutes/or miles and then shut it off... well, you try and start it again within a few to 30 minutes and it turns over and over for damn near 20-30 seconds and wont start, but if i turn it over at first for 5-10 seconds then stop and try again it usually starts instantly. so does this sound familiar w/anyone? the mechanic mentioned it could of course be anything w/fuel to electrical system, but he said what he has seen in the 4 cyl camry b4 (hes been doing this for 35 yrs haha) is that sometimes when the injector is dirty or somewhat clogged and you shut off the car, well the pressure in the fuel system makes the injector leak a bit so he is thinkin it could be a slight flooding problem. then again, could be bad injectors too? but we'll see. what do you guys think or experienced w/that yourself?

It could also be a defective coolant temperature sensor (Toyota calls this an ECT sensor) telling the computer the car is always cold. When cold it richens up the mixture. This is what is needed for a cold engine but is too rich for a warm engine. It causes a hot start problem. Next time the car is warm try holding the gas pedal to the floor and see if it starts any quicker. This is how to start a fuel injected car that is flooded. If it does start better, check the coolant temperature sensor with a DVM, both with the engine cold and warm (or have your mechanic do this). Use the specifications for the generation 3 in the manual at the top of this forum.
