The little light on the bottom left of the the gen3 dashboard that, is sopposed to tell you if one of your tailights is out, well, went on the other day(thurs) while I was driving. When I got home I checked it out and they all were working fine. Friday, I started my car and the light(in-dash) was off. Then today, it went on and off while I was driving!! WTF?! Has this happened to anyone? Help?! :-?
Had a turn signal bulb go out once...or so i thought. It worked every now and then. Turns out the bulb socket has got thin metal prongs inside to contact the base of the bulb. I use a mini screwdriver to bend the prongs out a little for more contact, and the problem hasn't resurfaced since.
I'd check the wiring and the actual socket for the prongs that plrbear was talking about.....
but also check all the bulbs, cuz some of the wire thingies (what are they called again???) inside the bulbs may be broken, but still sorta hanging on, so depending on if htye're connected at the time while jiggling around, the light might be working or not....
i dunno if that could be it (i know you're all thinking this isn't possible), but it's happened to one of my headlamp bulbs before....it didn't work, and then I jiggled it around until it was all touching inside, and then it worked.....only lasted about another 2 days until it totally broke apart inside and I had to replace it, but it might be your problem....

OK! I had the same problem before on my GEN3 too! That light on is not because your bulbs of your taillight, if you are sure all the bulbs didn't went off. You should check the wires in the trunk. The wires which connect to the taillight must be too old or too short. What you have to do is, open your trunk and check the wires at the left hand side. To solve the problem, you can replace all the wires or cut the wires and extend the wires and make them longer. Make sure when you close the trunk, it won't break the wires. See how it works.
