Rear deck Speaker covers

How exactly do I get the speaker covers off the rear deck. I need to pull them off to paint them and to re-wrap the rear deck.

Yeah definitely a good write up.

Check out the other stickies in the audio section.

Also now's a good time to deaden it and install some type of foam inbetween the rear deck and the panel(if you have/plan on using subs)

While that is a great write up, it really doesn't help me at all...I need to seperate the plastic speaker grill form the rear deck, and unless I'm blind, that write up doesn't show that...

I tried to just pull them off, but I broke one of the little tabs/pegs off, so I stopped. Do I need a certain tool? With the amount of people that have re-done their interior, there has to be someone here that knows...hopefully

I'm sorry, I figured you were trying to change out the rear speakers.

So what you're trying to do is change the grilles? To what?

I need to get the grilles off so I can repaint them and rewrap the rear deck with new material.

Best way is to take off the rear deck completely, then once you have the deck out, bend the tabs back on the bottom of it. They should come out after that.

Tabs? Mine just have little plastic pegs that go through the rear deck and have circular metal rings around the bottom (I just checked since my interior is sitting next to me in my living room right now )

I'd like to know too.. I had stock JBL speakers, with speaker covers, and i changed them to rockford fosgate, i think the fosgate speaker covers look better but i dont think it's possible to change speaker covers is it? (without modifying something)

Is it really necessary to paint them? What did you have in mind?? Not quite sure anybody is going to pay much attention to your rear deck even if your grills are coloured...
