hey guys im lookin to lower my car finally, only wanna drop it 1inch to 2inches max, its a 2000 XLE V6, the thing is I go on a lot of long distance trips, and i like the ride comfort of my camry and I want to keep it stock, but get that lowered look, i know im not gettin much performance gain (if any) for that im gettin a rear sway bar.
on my 2000 camry i got TRD/eibach springs and KYB struts. it feels like stock
My '98 Camry has the Eibach/KYB GR-2 Combo (with an upgraded Whiteline FSB) and it's a pretty stiff ride - especially up front. If I had it to do over, I would have gone with these:

yea...me, too. tein is pretty good
btw... is kind off topic sorry. you install front and rear sway bars right? did you feel the ride is very stiff?
thanks
Yes, I have the Whiteline anti-sway bars front and rear. At first I didn't mind the ride, it's very controlled, but my commute has changed and I'm driving on some roads that aren't in great shape. It's on these roads that my setup feels too harsh up front. The back is still perfect IMHO, but the front seems too stiff. When I get some free time, I'm going to change the Front Sway Bar (FSB) back to stock and see if that improves things any.
i have kyb gr2 with vogtland springs for a while. Lowering and the ride was okay (too harsh for me though). Took them off now cause I like the stock ride. BTW I have a 96 avalon.
I had H&R springs on stock struts for a while before I went to coilovers. The ride was good but eventually you'll need to replace the struts to something that can handle the drop. My springs are for sale if you're interested.

how long will the stock struts last if you replace only the springs?
That is a very ifffy question. There is no gauge to determine that answer. when i asked a similar questions a while back..people told me 3 days, some told me 3 months, while others max told me 5-10K miles (if i'm lucky). then someone here or at solaraguy mentioned he was on stock sturts for the past 40K miles and going strong.
I am currently on TRD (rebranded eibachs') and stock struts. I am close to 20K miles on this setup and still going strong. From personal experience, i'd do it again..cus i know i've got no use for stock struts once i get tokico's. but i wanted to 'wear' off my oem ones first. at this rate it looks another 10-15K miles before i might need replacement...

How many miles are you at right now total? At replacement of springs? etc...
I'm at like 65K, so I'm not sure if I could get away with just the springs for now and upgrade the shocks when I "wear them out." I hate being so damn poor and looking at all these expensive things!

I changed my suspension after around 8000 miles but I already noticed a bouncy ride with springs and stock struts. I installed the springs at 30,000 miles.
