Weel, the TN curse finally got a hold of me- although it was mostly my fault, I also blame the curse I was leaving a parking garage in downtown ann arbor last night with some friends, very tired, went to back up and wham! nailed one of the concrete pillars that holds the structure up. I will never forget that sound...
Got out, saw that my bumper had popped back out so it is only slightly pushed in, my center panel is chipped/scratched (but I got a new one from Terry for a backup- thanks man!) And my trunk has a decent dent in it. I was going slow but Im surprised it held up so well.
The question now is what to do... my trunk had a couple previous dents in it, as well as the holes from my emblems. Im considering a couple options- seeing if I can have my current trunk repaired and living with it til i get the cash, buying a white trunk w/spoiler from a junk yard and throwing that on, or of course going for the cf trunk- but thats not in my budget for a while.
Ill have pics of the damage in a couple hours... Im interested to know if you guys think it can be taken care of... be back in a couple hours. I still cant believe I did this, I probably got about 2 hours of sleep all night... Im just so bummed with myself. I pour my life into that car
That's how you should feel when it's not just A car but YOUR car. Meanwhile, put the pics up, let's see how bad this damage is. Although, you should see if the price of fixing the damage is cheaper than just buying a "new" trunk lid and spoiler but why would you fix it if it is how you say it is... with holes from the emblems and other minor damage? If I were you, I'd drop in another white trunk on there and save the hassle of finding a quality body shop but then, I dunno how bad the damage is so.. put some pics up
^ lol he's right... the curse would be if someone were to hit you with their car... you backing up into a concrete pillar... has nothing to do with curse lol.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.
This one is foggy from the condensation:
The cracked panel, which actually isnt too bad. I may be able to bondo it:
The trunk dent, one of three (the other two were there when i got the car)
The bumper scuffs:
Everything:
Its really not that bad I guess, maybe Im just being a baby. I just feel like the biggest douchebag ever, this is the first time Ive ever come close to hitting anything in my life, I hate that I did this to my car. The dent is really bothering me. Im going to see if I can bondo my center panel and get that back on- I have the stock one on at the moment. Ill post pics after I try the new panel and a little bit of touch up paint/bug and tar remover.
the curse put that pillar there- I swear it wasnt there when I parked!
dunno how close this is... but this place should have a white one from a 94 XLE with spoiler according to car-part.com http://www.rieglesautosalvage.com/
call them up. the price listed was 175. good price IMO.
yeah yeah, I knew allen would chime in with his damn supply and demand. "ehh, im sooooo cool, i have the only mold for a gen 3 carbon trunk, ehhhh"
Thanks zoni, I put in a request on car part .com for people to contact me if they have one... ill email those guys too.
edit: turns out that place is four and a half hours from my house... so I guess Id have to have them ship it. Thatll probably be expensive as hell. If this costs close to what a carbon one does in the end Ill just suck it up and try to find one... which will probably be impossible.
Im gonna have to live with the shit one for now because my rims come in this week and Im going to be one poor mofo
U want a cf trunk get ur own mold made and throw down big bucks. U dont need his mold its not like its the only one that can be made though it will cost a lot for a one off piece made.
yeah i dont have big bucks. at all. but thanks! even if they were to make trunks again, I wouldnt be able to afford it til spring... its dents for me right now, Ill live. thanks for the site zoni, I know its car-part.com, I was just lazy when I typed that...
Curse? I'd never heard of this.. What's it about? I hate that.. when theres a curse and you don't know it. It's just like how people don't know of the Red Sox and the "Curse of the Bambino"
Ill put up pics today if I get time, the panel is almost sanded, so Ill repaint and have her back on by the end of the week. The bumper came out well, much better than I expected- it already had some blemishes before so it really doesnt look bad. The only thing bothering me is the crease in the trunk... but its a good excuse to get one with a spoiler or something.
