LED as fog lights?

Was looking on eBay for a fog lamp for 2000 camry and saw this.

want to get your opinion to see if this really works?
I know most traffic lights are using LED as lamps but as fog lights???
What do you think?

Please, just constructive advise only

they look pretty badass, but i dont think they will do much in terms of lighting.
the light from LEDs emit bright light, but it doesnt carry very far.
imho, get them if you want them for looks, but dont go driving in fog..

Yeah. Doesn't look effective. Look good for show but not for the street. I do like em though.

It looks like a cheap knock off brand. Deno driving light from Piaa run around $100. In term of lightning, led doesn't product enough light to emit the road. It would take around 30 luxeon 5watt led to product enough light.

it should work well for street driving but not highway. i think it should work in a very narrow light focus for 10-15ft.
Cosmetic wise, it looks nice.

Not sure about how many lumens it is going to produce and I think there are some TN members that know more about that.

If they are 5mm leds, to get a proper wide angle outa them, they qould only put out lik 1000Mcd which is practicaly nothing. LEDS are allmost there in terms of technology, and lumiLED is about to roll out with their DOT approved 5 watt luxeon bulbs for cars. But i don't think those will give you the proper optiks that u need. Not to mention that driving around with BLUE leds on is just screaming to be pulled over.

LED is only good for signal and brake lights. They won't put any useful light on the road.

the lights would only be useful for being seen by other cars, not seeing...

X2

I used to have LED lights for my bike and basically I used them for that purpose, to be seen, but not to see with. Bike has a lot less power than a car since those lights use 4 AA batteries in front, and 2 for the rear, but you get the idea.
