I assume there might be a problem with the dirver switches or something. there might be a short or a loose wire? Can someone confirm or correct this cuz I dont want to take the damn door apart and find that the problem is elsewhere.

I spotted your post on another thread but that thread was closed and can't respond.
I'd bet money the problem is inside the motor/regulator. These devices haven't changed for many years and I'm one of the few who's taken one apart and looked at the guts (most people just replace them). As the motor winds up there is a round plate that goes around. The power going to the motor runs through this plate via brushes and as the plate reaches 11 O'Clock (or wherever "UP" is) the electrical connection to the motor is broken bringing the window to a halt before it tries to bust the window.
I'm oversimplifiying this a little bit because there are actually two traces, one trace for up and one for down.
The problem is that most power window motors are sealed units and very difficult to get into. As I said they are designed to be replaced, not repaired, so you have a 50-50 chance of being able to fix the old one.
I'd stop messing with the switches or wiring. None of that will get you anywhere. The switch just applies power to the wires and reverses polarity. Obviously if either of the wires was bad the window wouldn't work at all in either direction.
Hope this helps
