3rd Generation Accident is Good news, bad news

Our 1996 Camry was hit last week. All involved are fine. But the car wasn't drivable. The tow truck driver all but assured us that the insurance company would consider it totaled since it is an older car with over 100,000 miles.

The good news is the insurance company is going to fix it. Even better it will need a new front bumper and maybe even a hood. They were both looking awful before the accident becasue of rock chips. So in a way, the accident has brought new life to my Camry. I hope it is still the same car after they fix it. The drivers side front got crushed pretty good so some significant suspension bits are going to be replaced.

They'll also have to replace one of my wheels which is a BBS model that I think is no longer made. Not sure what will happen there. With any luck, I can get 4 new ones.

Wish me luck.

- Greg

Was the damage hard enough to bend the chassis? Defintely drop by and just ask what's being done. Luckily the insurance was good enough to pay for the repairs. As for the BBS rims: I hope you get new ones.. Put 18s with spinners... LOL! I like the "floaters" though.. pretty neat..

Do you have any damage pics? Then you can post up some "after" pics too when everything is said and done. As far as suspension, now you have a reason to buy coilovers!!!
