Who has done a home made ram air?

Who has done it and how did you do it?

-I was tinkering witht the car today, I endid up disconecting the intake up till the throttle. Then I took it for a spin and hit the redline a couple of times. I go to say more response then I expected. I know you wont gain much if anyting, but it gives me something to do.

I'll bite

Here is the link... http://www.teamdelsol.com/howto/coldair/diycoldair.htm

What I have done is 2.5" OD steel pipe with high-temp silicone couplers to a flexible marine grade 2.5"ID pipe through the stock air intake opening, 90° pipe directly to a 3" intake opening, Cone filter hanging in front of the drivers side front wheel in the fender.

Onother option might be to move the wiring harness next to the battery and under the fuse/relay block that is in front of the stock air box location, and run the pipe forward from the tb to behind the headlight, and 90° down the conveinent hole behind the headlight, and hang the filter behind the front bumper. A little more exposed to the elements there than where I have mine though

I have pictures finally (Silver Streak was waiting for those!) but since i am at work now, I'll have to wait to tonight and post them from home.

Keep an eye open here for pics later tonight !

Cheers,

So you ran the car without an airfilter. Not to smart.

The airfilter is there for a reason.

Thanks for all the help guys.

-As for the part about no filter. I know its bad, but all I did was a couple of laps around the block. Just to get the jist of how much the intake is robbing me.

Don't worry booster, I drove about 350km (Toronto to a cottage up north) without an airfilter on...it flipped off on some really bumpy roads. Car is still running fine but I would never knowingly run my car without an air filter.
