manual (haynes vs. chilton)

which is one is better? or a toyota manual?

ive got a chilton (given by a friend)... i went through it and looks to me as detailed as it could get.... but then again, ive never seen a haynes....

I have used both manuals. They are very similar. As far as stereo installation goes I feel that chilton's has better instructions and pictures.

Well, the toyota manual is best-that is if you can afford to pay $60 per volume (there are 3 volumes) : but apparently its the same manual a toyota mechanic uses. :P
otherwise, yes...haynes or chilton's is the way to go.
I've got a hayne's manual, it's not bad, for the price I guess.
Hayne's toyota manual has some nice pictures, kinda skimpy on the interior-a lot more focus on stuff like engines, suspension, brakes...even wiring diagrams.

I like Haynes way better...when I had to test out my neutral safety switch, the Chilton manual had almost nothing on it. The Haynes manual had diagrams and even wiring diagrams for the plugs! I think Haynes in general has a lot more wiring information so if you're into electrical stuff, get a Haynes.
