I own one. No difference in performance at all, if anything..less performance, as the K&N's are fairly restrictive. They filter exceptionally well though!. I bought mine to try it out, and, probobly wouldn't buy one again. Just go for stocky paper filters if your using an airbox, they work fine.
Oh, the K&N filters fit snuggly into the top section of the airbox, with not gaps. The stocky ones don't, they fit onto the bottom part of the airbox (try to fit it into the top section and itll fall out!). This means, that if you remove the bottom part of your airbox and just have the K&N in the top part, sitting there, you get a great induction sound! With an almost stock look! I've ran this for ages now, and it works great! Better sounding than a pod even! haha. (I don't run it like that anymore as the extractors cause alot of heat!)

i use one. no gains at all. 2nd best way to keep the air clean. at 1st it's really good for air flow but as it gets older (till you wash it again) filtration gets better from the oil. i'm problay going to go wash mine today.

^ and leaving it that way!
I got one, i recall them to be cleaned every 50K miles or so (if i recall correctly).
From just dropping it in, i've noticed no gains what so ever.
But over time, the dirtier it gets, the better your car performs (this is not only my theory, but there are a few people who agree with me). Over time you will notice slight gains in low rpm's only, its better filtration and slight increase in throtty noice levels.
oh cause filters are SOOO expensive...what $4 a year? lol, own your car for 12years and youll break even!
You must not drive a lot. I was going through a filter every 2 months on my Camry before I moved to where I live now.. long work commute makes for high miles
LEAVE IT DIRTY, if you keep washing and re oilin gthem they WILL DIE with around 10 repeats. you CAN just reoil them if its getting fry... and take it out periodically to shake off larger bits of vrud.. but if you are going to clean it, do it ONCE A YEAR at MOST.

It doesn't add any performance nor does if harm the engine. I just like the fact that it has a longer service life than stock paper filters. I blast out the large debris every year with compressed air and clean/re-oil every other year.
I can hear my CAI sucking air now when I accelarate hard. No noticeable difference other wise. Once I get my Borla cat-back, it should use the full potential of the filter though and I won't hear it pulling air anymore. Just a nice exhaust rumble.
Yeah, I put in a K&N drop-in about 2 months ago... no noticeable difference. The sound while throttling changed A LITTLE, but its nothing that would make your car in any way sound like you've got a custom intake or anything. I probably wouldn't buy one again.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.
ok, Explain who a CAI is considered a 'drop in'....
'05 SE has oem CAI. Takes in cold air from over and in front of the radiator as it gets force fed through the front grill. Faster you go, the more pressure at the intake. At least the V6 does. Go to a dealer and check it out. Pretty nice

The instruction mannual doesn't say anything to this effect. I don't think washing it more often is a problem. Otherwise, they would warn you. What if you live in a really dusty harsh environment...and you HAVE to clean it all the time. Would suck if you COULDN'T!

I don't really see that as a proper CAI. It has a pipe or whatever going TO the filter. My GF's paseo has this, and..so does my 88 Camry. A CAI, i thought, is having a filter placed outside the engine bay, like under the bumper or in the fender, to actually DRAW IN cold air. My 2c.
