99 Camry Suspension

Hey guys i just bought a 99 Camry 4 cyl with 82K on it. I hear there are suspension strut problems. I heard the rattling often from the front end of the vehicle can be fixed by tightening the strut mounts? Is this true? Also alot of ppl say the car rides low and bottoms out easily in the rear when you have alot of poeple or bump just right. Why is the rear suspension so boingy and how can this be fixed? Does anyone have any fixes to both front and rear suspension problems? and does tightening the strut mounts in the front really work several people have already told me yes. But what about the rear low riding problem? What needs tightened/replaced and at how many miles and what will it cost? Actually does anything need replaced or is the rear suspension another tighten it fix it type of deal. Thanks guys for the help!

I bought a 96 Camry in Feb, the rear is definitely too bouncy and does bottom out easily. Is the best option to replace the shock/strut?

you can replace the strut mount.

that usually fix the problem with the sound u hear from the front.

can be a DIY but you need the tools. look up the search for DIY strut and strut mount replacement.

if u think that u r going to get it fixed outside, might as well look at the strut and spring.

struts run from 250-350. Depending on brand and type.

springs, $100-$180. Depending on brand and type.

toyo strut mount is about $100 off eBay.

Do a search for best brands or budget/cost.

check ebay for prices.

There are some TSB thats apply to gen4 camrys, go to a dealership with those tsb print outs to see what applies to your VIN, get whatever is applicable fixed for free first, if the noice is persists after the work on it...they will pretty much tell you whats the problem is (FOR FREE), buy the right parts n have a local shop replace necessary parts!

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that they will only do work (for free) if it's recalled, not if it's simply mentioned in a TSB. They might take a look at it but I highly doubt they would fix anything for free. That's money they're losing for something they technically don't have to fix.
