4th Generation cv joint problem i think?

i was resently involved in a accident where i went off the road hit an inbankment and got spun around no damage visible expet the fog lights gone thats no biggie.. then couple days later i try to turn in a corner and it felt like it wasn't turning then a loud pop and it started to turn. i don't know if i damaged the cv joint or what i've looked around couldn't see any damage but i haven't taken the wheel off yet so i'll do that next. Would like some help on what to do? how can i do it? bout how much will it run me? will it hurt it if i drive on it too much? Please help if you can

^ don't think that can happen on our cars? they're bolted in pretty tight

to have anything pop out of place, it means something else broke too.

well i replaced the cv joints and the man that did drove it after that and still heard the pop, he thinks it may be the spider gears on the differential in the trans. It only does it every so often when i turn. He said I could drive it till it's gone cuz i may have to get a new/rebuilt tranny with new gears... so i don't know

2nd Generation

hi,

my CV's don't "click" really...only sometimes. HOWEVER, all of the time (unless i'm driving straight ahead) i hear this high pitched whine. i've had two people tell me it's my CV joints and to just replace them. it used to only happen sometimes, however i drive my car hard sometimes and now i hear the noise constantly. would my best bet be to have the CV's pulled and replaced? i mean, i love to work on cars and i'd love to spend time JUST replacing the cv joint, but i need a working car so to the shop it will go.

thanks!
jon
