Sell the camry for a 5.0???

My bro has come to his senses about fixing his supra, however will need to sell a mustang, 88 i believe, with a brand new racing trans. and very very stiff clutch (not hydraulic like toyotas). The car has 125000, and doesnt look that great as most 5.0's dont. he wants 1500.

My camry (1993) has 1390miles on new engine, 210000 on body and trans, PP's and tons of other goodies which will bring it up to around 260HP once the feul system is upgraded and engine light is off. Body is NOT in good shape, but i love the car. plus....its a toyota

think i should rid of the camry for the cheap stang with lots of muscle but lack of quality that of a toyota, or keep the camry w/the new engine, FWD, and 210000 mi auto???

For the love of God, keep your Camry!!! Ford Mustangs have a LITTLE muscle, but are ugly as hell, ride like hell, drive like hell, and break down like a mother f***er.

5.0 =

I say keep the Camry as well. Unless he was driving a Saleen or a Cobra, the older (after the late 70s) GTs and v6 model mustangs were pretty shitty up until recently. You're going to hate the 5.0 if you get it.

Don't do it. Personally I like the looks of the late 80s mustangs, but they're not reliable at all, and ugly on the inside. Of course it all depends on what you want to do with the car. If you're gonna mod it, there's a lot better market for that than for camrys, for obvious reasons. But if you're gonna use it as a daily driver, don't bother. I say keep your cam, do a tranny swap to a newer 5-speed, and get some body work done on it. Either than or restore your cam to stock, buy a newer one and put your mods back on the new one. Either way, good luck to you.

never was any mention about what engine you had....
why would you give up a 3vz? 5spd swap if you don't already have one, + lsd is the way to go

if you have money to fix it up I would take the 5.0

but if you dropped that much into your car already no point then.

i didnt drop THAT much money into it, maybe 2g's for new engine with mods for the 250-260HP range (again, after i upgrade the feul system). My car (the cam) has about 2500$$ in body damage and i cant get deals on body damage, everything else i can which is y i only spent so far wut i did.

REcently, my bro found a guy that would replace his rod bearing for his 7mgte supra for $75!!!! so im going to ask him how much he would doa manual swap for in my cam. if very cheap i will def keep and get better trans.

gas is def on my mind, my budget is VERY VERY low right now, very low.

im not a big fan of its looks but ill def agree with the rest, the interior looks like it came from dollar general, and the second day after my bro bought the car it stopped working .

I guess my main attraction to this car is its power potential, 300ftlbs torque and 225HP isnt a bad place to start, its ease of getting parts, NO body damage to worry about, already manual trans, and its RWD.....everything the camry isnt

time and money is the issue is all for that, like i mentioned b4, ill talk to the guy today about the swap and its cost.
