question on my camry

i just bought a 96' toyota camry, and it needed work done on it along with a new battery. they put a battery in there, but there is no bracket holding the battery in. i'm wondering if this will be a problem, or should i just forget about it?

You definitely should have it clamped down. The brackets are cheap and easy to find. Make sure they didn't convert it to a bottom clamp style.

karazy is right. If the battery keeps bouncing around, it's life will be greatly reduced. This bouncing will eventually break up the plates inside. I would try to find one on a car at a boneyard. It should be relatively cheap. If you can't find one at a boneyard, there is always the dealer. Until you get one, I would recommend a rubber tiedown strap as a temporary measure; remember, this is only a temporary measure to minimize the bouncing of the battery.

find "J" brackets at a autostore/place that sells batterys and those should be suffice to tie down your batter to the batteryplate. They are like 4 bucks for a pair!
