most folks just replace the burnt out D with a lower gear light that's not often used
as for the actual process, you'll have to disasemble your dash, remove the gauge cluster to get behind it, remove the shift light mni-cluster and simply switch the bulbs
holly smoke, sound like a lot of work to replace it. I will check that out later, since I don't want to remove the whole dash board just to replay a light.
Thanks !

Well you wouldn't be removing the whole dash... all you would do is unscrew the two screws right above your guage cluster in the dashboard... remove the clear plastic piece... take out a couple more screws to remove the guage cluster... take out the wiring harnesses (remember which harnesses go where), and then you can take apart the guage cluster to get to the bulbs. Its easier than it sounds. Its just that you would need some soldering experience to do the bulbs.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.
the soldering part may be the biggest deterrant from anyone doing this little fix, i don't have a soldering iron so i'd just keep the D light off for now

Yes, you can pick up a soldering iron for under $10 easily at Home Depot or OSH. As far as them being easy to use, I'm not so sure of that. It depends on what you're soldering. From what people have said in other posts, soldering the LEDs on the guage cluster is an 8 or 9 on a scale of 1-10 in difficulty.

Soldering the smts are the easiest thing in the world. Dont be afraid just do it.
and if the cheap soldering iron comes with a #2 flathead tip.. just buy a small pin tip to do the more precise jobs (like what you would be doing on your gauge lights)
if you google some intructions on how to solder, you'll figure it out in a matter of minutes. it really isn't something to be afraid of
You don't need to solder any thing because the only thing you have to do is twist the bulbs out just like the rest of them, But when you open the cluster you will notice that you can't see the bulbs, so you will have to remove the white part in the middle with the three wite clips there and pull the whole block straight out.

Eh... no no, the bulbs that he wants to change are bulbs that need to be soldered. majorgercko can tell you. He just did it to his guages. There ARE 194 bulbs that can be twisted out. But there are also smt LEDs that need soldering.

Thank you all for the information, I locate the 2 screws on the dash board (the black piece cover), looks to me there must be some other clips to hold it together am I right ? I will try to do it this weekend end. And can you purchase that light, and if yes how much are they or I just swap the "L" to it.
