I know the common rhetoric here is going to be "FLUGY" or why? Before the likelyhood it happens, let me explain myself.
I am looking for Gen4 (new) ventshades/rain guards. I agree they are not going with my current genre on my vechile (trd kit + plus size wheel+ other light mods).
I'm looking for visors that attach to the external side of the windows. WHY? wifees' work parking spot is in the open. Leather seats are talking a toll on this blazing houston sun and heat buildup in the car. At just 78K miles, the leather seats look like the car's 100K miles. We have a sunroof and yes she does keep it tilted. But when it rains, she has to run out and close the roof. With the vents, she can keep the windows cracked and be comfortable knowing that no rain will come in...thereby i'm seeking a ventshades. Anyone know where a cheap place to buy them. I see them on ebay for 45-55; I don't know if they come in different styles or different ways to 'attach' them to the car. i've seen an adhesive version (double sided tape) and another one thats mounted from the inside. So talk to me people...teach me more about vent shades and where to buy them cheap!
You've just about got it. I know of 2 versions: the kind that attach to the side of your car with double-sided tape, and the kind that tape to the inside where the window rolls into the top of the door. My Camry uses the former, while my parents' 98 Nissan Quest (minivan) uses the latter. I don't know if you can pick which style you want, but I'd drop by Advance Auto or AutoZone and ask them. They'll order them for you for free.

^ I highly recommend them, too. I've got 'em on my Camry, my mom's Quest, and my dad's Frontier. The Quest uses the "inside the door" style, which I don't like that much, cause the window doesn't seal up at the top as soundly as it would without the ventshade in it.

As far as protecting the leather and having the car not heat up as much, have you considered tinting the windows? I did that, and my car doesn't heat up anywhere near as much as it used to. My neighbor has a 2004 ES300 and she tinted her windows (because I suggested it), and her leather is decently cool after being out in the sun all day.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

Tinted when i first got her in 1997! 20% on the rear window and rear passangers and 35 on the front two (trust me it may not be legal, but its DARK). We do tilt the sunroof and open the windows a little, but the wifee can't leave her work all the time to run to the car when it starts to rain. Hence i was asking for ventshades. Thanks for the help guys. Mods may close this thread and i got my answers.
leave it open a bit and use the sun visor to block spattering rain, itll drip down the glass and maybe the side of the door but thats easy to clean :P
