Will this engine fit a 1997 Camry (automatic, has a 4 cynlinder right now) I want to swap and if it will fit, I will buy this one. What else is needed besides a new wiring harness, does it come with it? Any help would be appreciated. I have till about mid-August to make up this decision. This will become a show car completely customized.
The eBay owner specified to me that,
" It will be a custom job. Not sure if the mounts for the V6 are the same as they are for the 4 cylinder. This engine does come with the harness. It is sold minus all front assecories, ecu, throttle body and transmission is sold separately. I would do some more checking on this swap. "
if it was the RIGHT engine, it would work- the mouns are different, but the mounting points should be on the chassis
don't think the 4banger tranny works with the v6 engine (1mz) though
BUT your biggest problem here is that I wouldn't trust the seller, cuz he doens't know shit- who's the say he even has the engine, and what kind of effort does he put into his sales if he has a picture of a vortec?

About the VORTEC, "Sorry, we have so many engines for sale that we posted a general picture of one. I have 2 and both came in run and tested. One has 116K out of a 97 Avalon and the other has about 123k on it out of a 97 ES300. If i can help any more please let me know. Thanks Coleman"
I know the tranny needs to be changed, I understand this engine comes with the wiring harness (saves money) and the mileage isn't an issue. the 4banger I currently have is a rebuilt 75K mile engine (replaced after previous engine went from wrongfully shaved heads on it - blame toyota of stamford for that) How much of a difference is there turboing/supercharging the 4banger opposed to v6 3.0L? I'm working with a budget of $5,000 at the moment for this company project (will be used to advertise us at auto shows). Also, anyone know where I can find specs or know off hand the specs for the speakers in the camry? the stock sizes, I plan on upgrading the audio/adding custom speakers as well but that all comes later.

seriously if that guy cant take a real picture of the engine dont trust him.
and search for the swap it's a lot of work to get it done almost just as easy as doing it with that chevy engine.
hahaha chevy engine, ok I'll keep my eyes out for a different motor. Listen, scroll up where I posted another thread that I began posting this project. Read other members responses, and tell me what you think I outta do. Should I do the complete 3.0L 1MZFE V6 swap or do something currently with this 4banger? I'd like to get this project done before September.
