painting body kit need help

I have a good idea on how to do it but i dont know what method to use. Im running a little low on cash at the moment as i enter first year of college and i want a 1 color car to go to college and not have to worry too much about it. I have on my car a body kit. I have a 93 black camry with yellow body kit. . . yuck. . . . shogun kit i picked up off ebay not bad

How should i paint it? What kind of paint should i use? Should i spray paint it or air compressor spray gun? please need to get this done quick if you could include the steps that would be great. Thanks guys

To do it right you will need to sand down the kit, fill holes, sand, fill holes, sand.

then primer, sand, primer, sand, primer, sand

then once you have primered and sanded enough, you lay on the paint in a closed ventelated room from a spray gun. Lay down plenty of layers and let dry. then lay down layers of gloss for shine.

You really shouldnt do it yourself unless you are skilled in it. Take it to a shop and pay $300 for it to be done, youll be much more happy

cost of sand paper, primers, paints + tool = $bring it to the shop. Ofcourse your quality can't be good at the shop.

Dont just paint your stuff black primer.

The stupidest looking thing is when you see a car driving down the street with one of two things done:

1. A body kit is on the car and the entire car was sanded and primered, without paint

2. A body kit is on the car and the kit is primered, without paint

Do that and just prepare to have people vomiting or laughing when they see your car

he said he car was black (i think) at least primered it will look some what the same, as opposed to running mulit colors. if he doesnt have the money to paint the kit outright, itll look 1000x times better primered black than multi colored.

yeah, just grab some black primer spray cans from your local autozone or such.

im not sure about what grit to use. but put as many coats as need so that your primer is even, no patches or stripes

dunno if your talkin about my car or not but if you are, mines a 92. what bumper lights you need depends on what kit you have.

with mine (the silver one) youd need australian bumper lights, or chop up your old ones to make them fit. or custom mold your lights to your bumper.

with mikes (warlock, the blue one) 95-96 lights will work

if you look up UFOz his are 95-96s also.

kit paint job i doubt they would sell, but ya never know....Its right off 78, lehigh st exit....all the auto dealers on the auto mile use that place for anything from body repairs to detailing, they do a fantastik job. My black 2003 F-150 was done ther.....looks brand new straight off the lot, no joke, i kno a few guys over ther so i got a discount , but woulda been worth every penny reguardless

if u dont have experience......don't waste ur time and more importantly, money, w/a paint kit
