Question OMG, i think my engine mount were installed...wrong

1995 lexus es300

well, i recently bought a dogbone, and an engine mount which is below the radiator, that looks like a triangle, i bought them both coz i thought they should stop the engine from moving when changing gears/accelerating

after the install it still did the exact same thing, the bloody engine still moved, and yes its very noticeble, i chcked under the hood the parts are the ones i bought, but the mount which is under the oil filter MIGHT be installed incorrectly

when u look from top of the hood, is it suppose to look flat or.... coz im pretty sure the engine isnt suppose to move like that under acceleration, changing from P to R/D etc.

There's supposed to still be slight movement, but you might have other mounts gone bad.

Does it jump more when you put it in reverse or drive?

when its in neutral or park, and i press the accelerator it says dead still.

when i put it in d or r, it starts to either rock foward or backward

i just tested it out, it goes up and foward when i press the accelerator whilst its in D

i did this wif the hood open, one foot on the brake one on the accelerator, and my friend watching the engine move, and i could also see it through the gap of the hood.

If it's moving a couple of inches, then I'd check the back mounts. If it moves more when you apply the brake and put it in reverse, it's the back engine or tranny mount, I beleive there is two back there.
