I've balanced my wheels, but it still vibrates above 120kmh. What's wrong? My camry now has 52,000km on the odo. I remember at 26,000km the driveshafts, tie-rod ends, lower ball joints, & engine mounts were changed. Is it time to do it again?
How bad is the vibration? Anything that can be related to lower profile tyres, hence a more sensitive steering wheel?
Vibrations are usually caused by bad balancing, although there sometimes can be other causes.
I remember you switched from 15s to 17s right? Where did you send the car for balancing anyway?

I'm with plrbear on this one....either balancing, or just as likely, alignments...

I balanced all four wheels twice, at two different shops, but no difference. Balance is perfect "zero, zero". Alignment feels perfect, doesnt pull left or right, and no abnormal tire wear.
I admit I am a bit rough with the car, hitting 6000rpm several times almost every day. But I am quite disappointed that the front-end components cant last long for a mere 136hp 4cyl engine.
Wonder how long those with V6s last? Or maybe those V6s have stronger front end components?
AHHAH! Ok. Let me relate my personal experience to you. I once bought a set of wheels & tyres from a local store, and when they were mounted on my VW, the steering wheel would vibrate. I was told they were normal. However, the same wheels mounted on a Honda Civic produced no vibration at all. I later found out that the VW was hub centric while the Honda Civic wasn't (or something along those lines). Check the size of the centering ring. Do your wheels have those small centre caps? I'm wondering if the ring is the correct fit. Try fitting them on the hub without the wheel and see if they're snug. I believe that's the cause of your problem.
