Engine Mounts or something else?

Hello.
I bought a 1993 Camry V6 XLE a month ago with 136k on it. The problem i have shows only when the car is already moving. When my foot is off the pedal and i press it harder i feel a kick, knock, clunk, it's like something is hitting something else. The whole thing is only like half a second and then the car starts accelerating. Same thing is happening if i take my foot off the pedal at once. Its most prominent when i start doing the following: press the gass for a second, take off my foot for a second and then again...it's bangin ugly If i press or release the gas smoothly there's no bangin. Otherwise the tranny shifts smooth.
I read all topics about engine mounts and it seems like they are probably bad or atleast some of them. I went to few places and i've got completely different opinions.
First place did the test with the brake pedal pressed and revving the engine and going thru D-R, lifted the car and looked and sad that mounts are ok and it's the tranny.
Second place i went(transmission only shop, i made the mistake to mention that i suspect the engine mounts) the guy just drove the car for a while and told me that mounts are shot "Mounts are always bad on Toyotas".
Then i finally went to a friend of mine who works at Brinks - they repair trucks only but he is a fairly good mechanic. He did the same thing as the guys from the first shop and told me that my rear mount is in worst shape, rest of them are ok and also that the problem i have is complex and is not caused only by mount wear and it might help if i change the rear mount.
According to this post:
------------------------------------------
1. The dog Bone- Stops the motor from moving forward and backwards from driving torque, aka flooring it in drive or reverse.
Usually wears on the piece closest to the front of the car, not all the time though.

2. Front Lower Mount- Holds the motor down on the sub frame and stops the motor from moving up. Usually most noticeable in a thud thunking when letting off of the gas at higher speeds. It is Hydraulic and rubber. The rubber usually goes, rare occurrence that it leaks, if it does it will be the color of motor oil.

3. Rear Lower mount- Stops the motor from slamming back down from drive torque, and is the only mount stressed in reverse, so if your reverse feels laggy, that’s your mount. As you can see it’s just the bushing you need to buy. If the main bolt through it has worn out the washer or cast mount you will need to buy the washer or the cast mount.

4. Transmission Mount- This mount takes torque in every possible situation, if you are feeling a thud at mostly all speeds mainly gears beyond 1st and usually second, real bad in over drive, that’s your mount.

5. The notorious Engine moving control Rod- This is a shock. Even with perfect mounts your motor will move some, mounts are only rubber. This piece makes the movement firm, when the motor moves, this shock will bring the motor back down soft.
This piece goes bad and when it does it will get real loose, unbolt it and if you can move it up and down easy, its shot, and YES, IT DOES HAVE FLUID IN IT. Usually mistaken for antifreeze as it is green; if this happens it’s obviously shot.
--------------------------------------------
my problem is either the front mount or the transmission mount. I'm really confused.
Any help will be appreciated!

You can manually inspect the dogbone mount.
that is the cheapest to fix your self. about $25 from ebay for item and DIY.

sound like ur back / rear mount need to be replace but i would wait till u replace ur dogbone and see if it helps in reducing that prob

your lucky, the dogbone mount in my car has almost no rubber on either side of both ends! Wished i had money to get a new one but alas i dont...

Hope your search goes well bil, man all that to keep the engine somewhat restrained I never knew how complicated it was.

Little update here.
Front motor mount was changed but the problem stayed. The mechanic sad that the problem is caused by freeplay in the differential and there's nothing i can do about it and it won't get any worse, atleast not in the next 80-100k.
What do you think on this guys? Does it sound reasonable?
