Difference in MPG

Before I replaced spark plugs, wires and fuel filter I was able to get 320 miles on full tank and now since I replaced those items I am able to get 370 on full tank on my 3VZ V6 engine just measured it yesterday did not know that I would get extra 50 miles per tank

its the small things that could really hold an engine back (dirty filters, fouled plugs).. and when you restore those key parts back to new condition, the engine runs alot healthier.

I am in the midst of calculating my mpg these last weeks as well. I'm at an empty tank and i'll refuel today to figure out my average mpg over these last 2 weeks.

Hmmm.......very interesting.........though I'll have to go with the "fuel filter" on that one. And probably more how the ECU interpreted your fuel needs more than the fuel filter itself as a clean fuel filter would only flow more fuel.

Every ignition product I've ever tried (even MSD racing stuff) does absolutely nothing to gas mileage. Sure fouled plugs could be a problem, but you'd want to replace them anyway if that was the case. Wires & plugs never make any difference you could measure on mpg that I've seen.

I also agree with throttle body cleaning. MAF sensors and a cleaner throttle body overall make for a more efficient running engine.

I did clean the throttle body also at that time of replacing of those items and I installed K&N ail filter like a year ago. Does anyone know when should I service the K&N filter again. I probably put about 15000 miles on it in a year thank you.

2 weeks on a tank of gas! I wish that was my case. I fill up once a week minimum, but then I commute 60 miles a day in rush hour traffic.

well i've been making calculations for 2 weeks now.

I've filled it twice since then. I fill up about once a week (drive about 100kms a day)

on my filup today.. I filled up 56L (14.8 Gallons) and I drove for 797km (495 miles) on that amount of fuel

so My average MPG for this last week was 33.4 MPG!!!

(and that INCLUDES a weekend of joyriding with 7 people in the car)
