Just got some of those indiglo gauges like most of you guys and I was hoping to get a few things covered before I go and install them. My big concern is about that wire that comes out of the top of the gauges. While looking at some pics I noticed that other people didn't have that wire and I was curious as to where it went. another thing is that it came with an on/off switch. Can I hook it up so it turns on with the lights? I was also curious if the dimmer would work anymore. What kind of adhiesive would you use or if you would use any at all. Some other guy in another forum said he didn't use any. And my last question is about the needle. Since it is tinted orange that limits my ability to really do anything. What would any of you do to change the color of the needle if it is even possible due to it's tint. My apologies about all of the qeustions, I just figured I would ask people who knew what they were doing.
Thanks Will
There's a million threads on installing indiglos, as well as some DIY pictures to go along. You need to do a search on this.
Having taking out my indiglos like 10 times because I was one of the first to have them, I have a ton of experience on them. The wires at the top will get covered by the dash bezel, so don't worry. You'll know where to place them. For the on and off switch, just hook up the power wire to the dashlights so that when you turn on your headlights, the indiglos turn on...and keep the switch on. You can find the right wire to tap if you search, as I can't remember which one it is. You can use double sided tape to stick the indiglos on, I highly highly recommend using it as it'll pop up and the speedo may not work. I don't think you can really change the tint of the needle, I'd just leave it alone...taking it out would screw it up and painting it would screw up the weight of it.
Sh!t, when putting in the fuel gauge face from the kit I ran into an unexpected surprise. There is some kind of bracket looking thing with 2 screws that seem damn near impossible to unscrew because the speedo is in the way. It seems as though I can't get the f-er to fit unless I can undo the screws. Any help with GREAT detail would sure be appreciated .

Thats how your suppose to hook them up.
Hook up the power lead (red wire) from the gauges to the parking light wire (green wire).
Parking light wire is on one of the plugs that plug into the back of the gauge cluster.

The dimmer still works, although its useless with the indiglo gauges.
Use double sided tape.

Remove the speedo and tach. Theres screws that go through the backside of the gauge cluster.
And you have to remove the 2 little screws on the fuel and temp guage, to install the indiglo gauge.
you dont have to take out the two screws for the fuel gauge, you can just cut the gauges so that it will mold to fit the fuel gauge, thats what I did and its not noticable when everything is put back together.
