3rd Generation Tail light alteration

hey folks. i did a search but got results that didn't quite work for me.
i am using a gen3.5 camry and i wanted to clear my tail-lights. basically give it the red/clear treatment. it has never been covered on how to seperate the lens from the plastic housing. i've seen some pics of the tails and all i see is screws. do they still require baking though to remove the lens?

correct question to all this is has anyone succesfully done this? i don't want to cough up 100 bucks for eBay tails. i know once i seperate the lense, i just pop out the amber piece. however, how is the amber piece held up?

any suggestions would help. thanks!!!!

yes, you have to put it in the oven and bake it to take hte lense off

- preheat your oven to 400 degrees
- turn it OFF
- put your lenses in, and periodically take it out and pry it apart slowly

and not sure how the amber's held in, but it is removable for sure, don't think it's hard once you get the lenses off

The gen 3.5 tail lights are different from the gen 3. The 3.5's amber peice is molded into the outter plastic lense. The gen 3 has a clear cover over the top of the colored amber and red. I can see how you could just pull the amber peice out of the gen 3 but I'm not sure how your gonna do that on the Gen 3.5 or you will have a big hole. The 3.5 also have a slightly different slope to them than the gen 3.
