running fog lights all the time

Hi,

Does anyone know how to wire the foglights so that they run all the time with the drl. Because the fog lights only turn on when the headlights are on. I was wondering if anyone knew how to run the foglights and the drl at the same time, because i have seen a couple of camrys do that btw i have a 04 se v6.

thanks
Man

DRL stands for "Daytime Running Lights" ... had to be picky ... and furthurmore, why would you need to have your DRL's AND fog lights running simultaneously in the first place??? Its daytime, why would you need to be doing that except blinding people in oncoming traffic???

^^^well, during the daytime, its hard to blind ppl and DRLs are usually the high beams at a lower (at least 50%) power.

If u wire them to the (+) of the DRLs, they will also be off when the DRLs are off (ie at night.

Instead of wiring the fogs to the DRLs, you should wire them to the ignition so that u have full control over them and have the ability to use them at night...(2 of my friends did this on their gen3 eclipses' so they can drive with ONLY the fogs on while still utilizing the factory switches.)

I really wouldn't recommend doing this because you can technically get pulled over for it.

Um, you have a 2004 SE and you want to mess with the wiring??? Before you go ripping apart the dash or anything else, I'd make sure that you knew exactly what you are doing. (Chilton or similar manual) You are messing with the wiring with a $15,000-$20,000 car.... and any mistakes that you make might be very, very, VERY costly. I'm not trying to put you down, I'm just trying to help you prevent a potentially costly mistake.

Why don't you just turn on and keep on the headlamps w/ your fogs? I believe that all Camrys made in model year 1997 and newer all have auto-off headlamps (with the exception maybe of CE or Standard models). Why don't you set your headlamps on with the fogs, and then never touch them again. I haven't turned on my headlamps in my car for 5 years. They go on and off automatically, on when you turn on the car, and off when you open the door with the key out of the ignition. That seems lots easier than rewiring a pretty much brand new car.
