If you've already removed the resonator, using that as a replacement is a good idea. I plan on doing a similar setup on mine. A Borla muffler at the back and some kind of straight through glass pack to replace the resonator. All 2.5" of course.

I don't know if its a actual cherry bomb, but looks pretty similar.

That muffler looks a bit long by muffler standards... anyone know what i'm talking about? if you bolt that upto stock, it'll prolly stick like 6 inches out past your bumper, which wouldnt be good

You can use it for a while. Glass packs will blow/burn out in time. The hotter it runs, the faster it'll burn out and it'll get hot just behind the cat. If you can afford it, you'd be better off getting something similar to the Flowmaster Hushmaster II which has no packing. They are about $176 for a 2.5" unit. You may be able to find a knock off for a much cheaper price. I've been out of touch with the "hot rod" world too long to know everything I need to know.

Cherry Bombs used to be a big brand name along with Thrush and Hush Thrush in the days when I used to be young. I used to run a set of Thrush header mufflers bolted directly up to the header collectors coming off of my 455cid Olds V8. No laws in AZ about running pipes out to the side or back so they ended right under the drivers/passenger seats. Very, very loud. Almost sounded like straight pipes when I floored it.

just go to ya local exhasut shop and get them to weld in a resonator for less then $100... why dont you have one anyway... or you do.. and you want it even quieter, if so, you shouldn have got the magnaflow, shoudlve got a borla or something :P magnaflows are straight though.. bola mostly still use the more OE style expansion chambers.
