I was about 25 minutes through my commute this morning when I went to turn on my air conditioning. When I turned it on, dark white smoke came pouring through the vents into the car! :o I was like WTF! I quickly shut it off and rolled down my windows. I didnt know if it was exhaust smoke or what, so I didnt take any chances.

Basically, what in the hell happen? What kind a smoke was it? What do I do? Thanks.

Don't know what the weather is like in NYC right now, but that could just be vapour. Does it smell funny?

It was about 9:45AM, and a beautiful day. Sky was blue and clear, no fog, or moisture in the air what so ever. Around 79F....I didnt smell anything but I did shut it off after like 4 seconds.

Are you sure it was smoke?, I have the same thing on my 90' camry, but I think its the moisture seeping out from the a/c. It scared the sheot outa me when it first happened though.

I am pretty sure it was smoke. It was really white I can tell you that. I ran the car and the A/C a few time since then and it hasn't happened. I'm kinda afraid to put it on, am I gonna damage something?? Someone please help!!

Thats freon, maybe you need to tighten something up. Or its running out. In my friends integra it happened, it meant that it was running out...

Actually, I had the freon added only two months ago. So I don't think its that. I'm totally baffled over here!?!?! :-?
