I have been planning to change my head lights. I want something like the new BMW's, the blue hallogen's i think. Anyone know of any good sites specializing in this, or any recomendations you guys can make would help.
I am also planning to buy a radar scanner, (i know its illegal here, but i'm willing to take the risk) does anyone know what frequences our police radars use, or what radars are compliant? I was thinking to buy the Cobra ESD 9100 because it seems to be the cheapest for good quality and features. http://www.jamradar.com/esd9100.htm All help is appreciated!

Actually i think laser is a standard now a days, and yes, radar scanners can pick that up no prob. top of the line scanners can pickup signals almost 5Miles ahead, or 1.2Miles from behind

That is the case for radar... however for laser, byt the time you pick it up, it has already hit you and they've clocked you... too late!

heh, I dont think companies would still be selling radar scanners/detectors as they like to call them if they didn't work with todays technology, dont you? If you went to that link, you would see that this specific model picks up 3 different types of lasers, and this is the basic model.

3 LASER SIGNALS
1. LTI 20-20 Laser*
2. Ultra Lyte Laser*
3. ProLaser*

I only every checked out Valentine One because I heard it was hands down the best radar/laser. However I didn't dig any deeper. Are you saying this one is better and can actually detect laser before it is even pointed at you?
Looking at how a laser works, it seems highly improbable, but I am open to any ideas on how they do it (outside marketing claims).

If your reaction time is .00001 of a sec, you catch him catching the guy in front of you or you're looking for a supermarket, your "LAZER" detector will work wonderfully!
I was avg.ing 15-16 tickets a year even with a detector/jammer, since a lazer is a split second pulse you don't get him til he pulls the trigger, so every ticket I got was by lazer ...or paceing aircraft.
I recomend (this is the voice of experience) learning all the possable "cop spots", keeping your eyes peeled and getting a good lawyer (I've never had a single point, even after 125mph in a 50mph).
If you do get a dector/jammer DON'T rely on it, it WILL let you down! It creates a false sence of invunerability.
FYI... I've been pulled over and ticketed twice in the last year and a half since I ditched the detector/jammer and started using my eyes and brain.
