Yeah, ask brungold. He did it to his. Took a short ram and extended it into the fender. I'm probably going to do the same when I end up getting an intake..

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.
What I want to know is, how do you remove the plastic crap from the fender? Obviously you can't fit an air filter inside of there. Oh, and keep, nice sig...where is that?

I haven't done this modification yet. But I'm sure that the CAI ends up running to the outer side of the plastic bottom peice.
As for removing the inner wheel well plastic to GET at it while your doing it, i'm sure it's snaps or screws, probably straight forward.
And thank you for the Sig comment! 2G DSM's are some of the most beautiful cars in my opinion. I'm not sure where it was taken (it's not my picture by default)
Indeed they are nice, but I think the only reason I like them is because of their resemblance to the 3000GT. As far as that plastic in the wheel well, I was under the impression that it has to be removed, and you stick the filter in that spot. It doesn't screw on or anything, unless it is from the inside of the fender. I guess you'd have to take the wheel off to get to it.
^ yup, you have to remove the entire stock airbox setup, and the only way of really doing so is by removing your front bumper to get to all the screws....there are many hidden screws, so look around a bit- then the cone filter will sit behind your front bumper

i unscrewed the plastic from the wheel well, and connected the filter to the piping.. i didnt have to take my wheel off, but i suppose that would have made things easier! i just turned my wheel all the way to the left to make some room to play.
Here's my filter with the plastic peeled back:
and another angle
the bends will prolly be different for other Gens, but for me it was the civic CAI that had the right bend and length for us.
lemme know if you have any questions, and let us know how it goes!
