use two nuts that you removed from another stud thread them against each other and big wrench on the inside one and you should ghet them loose.

btw... wd-40 stands for water displacement, if you want to break stuck bolts get penetrating oil like pb blaster or liquid wrench..

i tend to use vice grip pliers, clamp em down and the stud will come loose.

Always a good idea to apply penetrating oil preceding any removal method.

Yup good ole' vise grips did it, the pair I has wasn't good enough, it was good enough for the other 5 but the last one was just so damn stubborn, I got the RippModds SDS test mounted with the alternator relocation bracket. Looks so good in the car...hopefully have everything in and ready to go soon...

If you ever want to remove studs and not ruin them, you can buy stud removers that spin onto the stud and tighten over the threads. I use em quite often in boats where we place spacers on the outdrive, longer studs are required for taller spacers.

I have a stud removing set. It looks like a socket but has fins on the inside. You hammer it over the stud and spin it off like you would the end of a bolt. Worked like a charm, actually spun off much easier than I expected. I'm sure vice grips would work too, but the stud removing set is very easy to use.

Are we talking about the manifold bolts that go into the y-pipe?

^ The studs on the cylinder head. Exhaust manifold slides over them.

Manifold to y-pipe might use the same thing (stud and nut).
