removing gauge cluster

hey all....i got a 99 camry and i'm trying to install my reverse glo gauges. but for some reason, i cant get my cluster to get out (pretty much the first step after taking out those phillips screws at the top). i can get the bottom and top of the cluster loose, but when it comes to the sides (ie. the area where the clock is and same on the other side, where that little vent thing is) it doesnt budge at all. so i was wondering, for all the people who installed new gauges, can ya'll tell me exactly how you got the cluster to come off or something? anything would be appreciated.. thanks guys.....

I had the same problem when I *first* pulled my cluster apart. I was scared to break it so i wasn't using too much force. After i while i got sick of and yanked it hard yet i was careful to be pulling both sides equally. I got it out with a forceful and balanced yank. keep pulling on it hard, not wildly & it should come out after a few tries or sooner
