Ebay Gasket kits - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

Just wanting to know if anyone has ever bought these "gaskets sets" from EBay.
I want to rebuild a 2VZ, good for some power, and obviously need new gaskets/seals for the motor. I found a "gasket kit" for the engine with everything required, for quite cheap. Wanted to know the quality of it, and if it's up to the task. It would be a far cheaper option than buying ALL of it from Toyota! Apparenly, with these kits, everything is new and original stuff...

I would think that they're okay as long as they say that they're new....

BUT I would make sure that they have them on hand and that they have pictures of them......remember when somebody posted a while back with auction links where the gaskets were all for the wrong engines???

Just make sure the feedback is adequate, I believe Toys bought his gasket kit off EBay, if you are replacing the head gasket get a custom MLS gasket, the ones offered in the online kits are usually composite and I dont think the metal gaskets thru Toyota are offered for the FE series engines.

Ok, thanks guys.
What I might do is buy the kit, and as you say Lucky, get a metal head gasket made up.

If anyone else has some feedback about these kits, chime in!
