the light green plug that use to have two lines running out of it.
oh yeah, that's the Thermo Vacuum Valve aka TVV (for EVAP). I can't explain exactly what it does or how it works in relation to your engine's performance but those hoses lead to the charcoal canister and the other leads to the throttle valve. Mine was broken for years and it made no difference whatsoever. If you are worried about it I would go to the junkyard and grab one off of an engine because they want $30 at the parts store for it. Otherwise, dont worry about. If it were ever a real problem then you would have heard ppl talking about it on this forum. Perhaps when you find out what it does and how it works you can fill us in.
^ That's basically all it does, feed vapour from the canister to the TB. It has a thermal switch that won't open until the car gets up to temp. Without it, all the vapours will vent into the air. I don't think you can pass the emissions test without it.
It's called a bimetal vacuum switching valve and is part number 90925-05068. These run about $50 list price. You may want to check at a local junk yard for one.
dont bother replacing it. take a straw from an aersol can, cut 1 inch piece, make sure the ends of straw holes are open (they will pinch if u cut with side cutters, use razor) put straw in hole and superglue the blue ends back on.
If you gonna get one from junkyard, do the following.
Remove your broken one. Buy a deep socket for it. Cut a slot deep enough for the two plastic pipe to stick out. It'll be much easier to remove and install without breaking those little pipes. You can also just remove the whole waterneck and swap.
Anyway I do have a few sitting around. Let me know if you need one.
