I have been looking but cant seem to find the answer to this question.
Which manual transmission does the 92-94 Camry come with? I have seen ppl doing this upgrade but havent seen which tranny they used. Because the tranny option was so rare I cant find any reference to it in the Haynes manual or the Toyo Service Manual.
I know is it not the same manual transmission that is used for the I4 but I cant find any other reference to any other camry manual transmission. Please help.
thanks

Hey thanks. Can you tell me a lil more about this tranny? Whether its used in another car. What other parts I may need if I wanted to do a swap.
thanks again
shift linkage is on the wrong side, you can get away with a fwd housing. also although the bolt pattern is the same, there are less bolts on the camry engine (i think)
the e153 shares quite a bit with the r154 which is a rwd version which comes in lots of toyotas so yeah, youre all good to go for making a 1000hp gearbox :P

thought that the V6 Camry (3vz-fe) came with the E53 not E153. The E153 is the updated version with dual cone synchros...In fact, I beleive that the 3rd Gen camry only offered the E53.
